1. From Rome to today: a bridge with a thousand lives<\/b><\/h3>

The first London Bridge was built by the <\/span>Romans in 50 AD<\/b> It was made of wood, rudimentary, but functional. It has since been rebuilt in stone, renovated, destroyed, sold, and exported (yes, even that). 2. The bridge that was sold (to the United States!)<\/b><\/h3>

In 1968, the old 19th century bridge was dismantled stone by stone and <\/span>sold to an American businessman<\/b>, Robert McCulloch. He rebuilt it in <\/span>Lake Havasu City, Arizona<\/b>.
